“S2 holy cow,” Madon wrote on an Instagram Story. “I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again THANK YOU for watching our show and THANK YOU for supporting Aussie content.”
“We’re going back to school for term 2 💔,” Hayden posted on Instagram, adding “(I am so excited I can not stop crying thank you thank you thank you for loving our show)”.

Will there be a season 2 of Heartbreak High on Netflix?
Yes, the second season of the breakout reboot Heartbreak High has officially been confirmed by Netflix.
When will season 2 of Heartbreak High be released?
While we don’t have an official release date just yet, Netflix announced on May 29 that production for season 2 is officially underway. Sharing a sweet video of the cast returning for the first table read of the series, the streamer wrote on Instagram, “Grab some celebratory hot chippies — Heartbreak High: Season 2 has officially started production!”
The video sees the show’s leads Madon, Hayden and James Majoos, revisit their first table read and share their excitement for the forthcoming season.
What is Heartbreak High about?
Season one of Netflix’s Heartbreak High delved into the trials and tribulations of high school. The plot follows Amerie (Ayesha Madon), who is made an instant pariah at Hartley High after a discovery is made — and after a very public friendship break-up with bestie Harper (Asher Yasbincek). With her new friends, outsiders Quinni (Chloé Hayden) and Darren (James Majoos), Amerie has to repair her reputation while navigating the murky waters of love, sex and heartbreak.
Season 2 will continue to follow Hartley High’s resident troubled teens — but there could be some unexpected plot points.
In the production announcement video shared on Netflix’s Instagram, Majoos noted, “I’m really excited to see how people react. I think there’s some twists and some turns and some oops and doops and it’ll be fun.”

Photos from the first table read confirm that Madon, Hayden, Majoos and Yasbincek will return, as well as Gemma Chua-Tran (Sasha), Will McDonald (Ca$h) and Chika Ikogwe (Jojo Obah).
It is expected that the rest of the core cast will return, too. No new characters or cast members have been announced.
